Blueprint Appraisal Finds Strong Fidelity
VAS has been working toward completing the Michigan Department of Education MiExcel Blueprint. The staff at VAS has been learning -- and implementing -- skills and tools facilitated by the MiExcel team. On Monday, October 30, the school had a successful Fidelity Appraisal. We were excited to welcome MiExcel Blueprint officials to our school!

Our annual family reading event will be Tuesday, March 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. In addition to a special presenter, we will have many fun activities for our families. You can download a flyer right here.
Vanderbilt Area School participates with the State of Michigan CEP. This means ALL students receive FREE breakfast and lunch daily. Breakfast is served from 7:40 to 7:55 daily.

VAS Seeks Bids on Abandoned Well
The School District is seeking bids on filling and capping an abandoned well on our property. If you are interested in the RFP, please click here.
Monday March 21, 2016, VAS completed a successful lockdown drill featuring our new "boot" system. We worked with the assistance of Otsego County Emergency Services and local law enforcement. The drill lasted nine minutes and one second from beginning to end.
Thursday, December 10, 2015, VAS completed a successful lockdown drill. Once again with the assistance of Otsego County Emergency Services, the Gaylord Police Department, the Michigan State Police, and Otsego County Sheriff Department, VAS continued in its efforts to ensure students are safe.
